Wedding Recap: Bridal Party

We had a very large wedding party with 7 groomsman/best man, 6 bridesmaids/maid & matron of honor, 4 flower girls, 1 ring bearer and 2 ushers. Our wedding party consisted of family and very close friends. We couldn't have asked for a better group of people. They support us and love us unconditionally!

Wedding Recap: Ceremony

Our wedding ceremony was interesting to say the least. To start off I totally and absolutely lost it as soon as I started walking down! I was crying uncontrollably and couldn't stop. I don't know why I got so emotional all of a sudden. Joey and I had been together for 7 years and I was soooo ready to get married but I guess after waiting for so long and then not having my dad there, it just got the best of me.

Our ceremony like most others did not run all the way smoothly. There were a few bumps in the road. The first the song I walked down the aisle to didnt stop once I got there. We stood there for at least a minute while it continued to play. That was partly my fault because we didnt rehearse the night before with the music. Bad idea. So the pastor had to start talking over the music until it ended.

The second mishap was that when I was repeating my vows after the pastor i had to ask him not once but TWICE to repeat one of the lines. And of course everyone started laughing. LOL. The last mishap was that we forgot to light the outer candles for our unity candle. So when it cam down for us to light the candle we had to stop and ask someone for a lighter. So without further adeu, here are some pictures of our ceremony:

(which was perfect & exactly how I hoped he was going to kiss me)

Who Am I?

A lot of my blogger friends have already done a Q&A for their Vlogs but I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet. LOL

So instead I will take this time to ask you what would you like to know about the life of this newlywed? You can ask me anything you want as personal as you want. I am an open book and am here to share!

In Memory of Austin Haynes

This sweet boy and my "foster" cousin passed away a year ago today from complications with his diabetes. He was only 17 years old. This year he would have went to his Senior Prom, been an usher in my wedding and graduated from High School. It has been pretty hard on his parents and grandparents as this was their only child and grandchild. Yes I am a part of their family but its still not the same.

Diabetes should be taken very seriously as it is not something to mess with. In 2006, diabetes was the 7th leading cause of death. Over 23 million children and adults in the U.S. have diabetes. Depending on what type of diabetes you have you can control it with diet and exercise or by taking insulin. For the past couple of years supporting the American Diabetes Association has been very important to me. My dad's mother has diabetes as well as both of Joey's grandparents, my best friend's sister and then my cousin. Last year my family and I created a team in memory of Austin to participate in the Step Out to Diabetes Walk. We also raised over $4,000. I'm hoping that we can do that again this year and I would like your support in helping us in our fight against Diabetes.

When I have our page ready I will let you know. Thanks for all your support and love!
